Who We Are
The Guru Nanak Institute of Global Studies (GNI) is a non-profit post-secondary academic and research institute based in British Columbia. The Institute operates under a bicameral governance structure consisting of a Board of Directors, which provides fiduciary oversight, and an Academic Council, which holds responsibility for academic governance, quality assurance, and program oversight. This structure is supported by an External Academic Advisory Committee composed of experienced scholars and professionals who provide independent academic guidance and strategic input.
The Institute engages faculty with university-level teaching and research experience across a range of disciplines, including representation from British Columbia’s post-secondary sector. Its staff reflect the diversity of the communities it serves and support an inclusive, student-centred learning environment.
GNI serves a diverse student body, including domestic learners from British Columbia and across Canada, as well as international students from a wide range of countries. The Institute also fosters scholarly engagement through collaboration with research scholars and academic partners from Canada and abroad.
