Course Overview:
A beginner-level cybersecurity course is designed for students with little or no prior background in the field of cybersecurity. It aims to explore the world of hackers and discuss the concepts and principles of hacking, including different types of hackers and how they actually hack. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and real-world case studies, students will learn how cybercriminals and hackers attack systems or networks. This course will teach widespread attacks, such as Phishing, Brute force attacks, DOS and DDoS attacks, Bots and Botnets, and malware. Students will also learn about the different methods to protect their systems from cyberattacks, which include learning about Antivirus, firewalls, Encryption, and Authentication. This course will cover hacking, malware, firewalls, worms, phishing, encryption, biometrics, BYOD, and other cyber security.
Prerequisite:
- The students must have completed grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Must pass in-house designed entry exam covering basic math, algebra, and calculus (minimum score 60%).
- Students from non-English speaking countries must pass the English Language Proficiency Test.
- English Language Proficiency Test scores (IELTS – 6.0, TOEFL – 70, PTE – 45, CAEL – 70, CAE – 176, Duolingo – 110, Password – 6.5, and PTE – 61) are acceptable.
