  7. Dismissal Procedure for Academic and Non-Academic Reasons
    7.1. Dismissal for Academic Reasons
7.1.1. Students will typically be dismissed if they do not make adequate academic progress according to the timelines and policies set by their chosen Program ead and/or the SEA. When a Student is dismissed, the academic record will indicate “Dismissed.”
7.1.2 A dismissed Student in any program will not be eligible to apply for readmission to the institute for at least one year.
7.1.3 After one year, Students who have been dismissed from a program may be admitted to the same program provided they meet all admission requirements in effect for that program at the time they apply.
7.1.4 Such applications must be accompanied by a statement from the SEA who recommended the dismissal, outlining why the Student was dismissed.
7.1.5 Compelling evidence must be presented that a more successful outcome is likely if the Student is readmitted. All cases for readmission must be reviewed and approved by DIRECTOR.
7.1.6 Students dismissed from a program more than once are not eligible for admission to any program in the institution.
7.1.7 A Student must be informed in writing/email by the SEA of unsatisfactory progress and given an opportunity to discuss the matter with the DIRECTOR before any recommendation for dismissal is made to the Chief Executive Officer.
7.1.8 The academic record will indicate “Dismissed.”
7.2 Dismissed – Failure to Attend
7.2.1. A Student who fails to register and/or becomes absent without leave from their program for three or more consecutive lessons may be dismissed from the program. The academic record will indicate “Dismissed – did not register”.
7.2.2 The institute will document that an attempt was made to contact. Failure to register for three consecutive weeks may result in the Student being dismissed.
7.2.3 The program must first make reasonable attempts to contact the Student by e-mail, telephone, and/or regular mail. If there is no response after repeated attempts, the SEA may recommend that the Student be dismissed.
7.2.4 The SEA must submit copies of the written attempts to contact the Student and a memo confirming the non-registration and non-attendance of the Student to the CEO
7.2.5. The academic record will indicate “Dismissed – Failure to Attend”.
7.2.6. A Student who does not complete formal dismissal/withdrawal procedures will be liable for all assessed fees until such procedures are completed.
    7.3 Dismissed – for Non-academic Reasons
7.3.1 GNI reserves the right to dismiss a Student from the program if the SEA, in consultation with the CEO, considers the Student to be unsuited to proceed with the study or practice of the chosen course. Request to dismiss for non-academic reasons would not prevent the Student from immediately applying for entry into the course again.
7.3.2 The academic record will indicate “Dismissed.”
7.3.3. Students who have made arrangements to pay fees in instalments and If their account remains outstanding beyond 21 days, the student will be dismissed unless there are extraordinary circumstances.
