Course Overview:
Projects are an integral part of everyday life and bring about all changes in business and personal life. This course provides the knowledge, skills, tools, techniques and step-by-step scientific approach to project management for experienced project managers and those with little or no experience in project management. Students learn to initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, and timely closure of projects, with emphasis on managing projects effectively, including the management of scope, time, costs, quality and end goal satisfaction.
Prerequisite:
- The student must have completed grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Students from non-English speaking countries must pass the English Language Proficiency Test.
- English Language Proficiency Test scores (IELTS – 6.0, TOEFL – 70, PTE – 45, CAEL – 70, CAE – 176, Duolingo – 110, Password – 6.5, and PTE – 61) are acceptable.
- Math Placement Test score of 5 or better or MATH095 (C or better).
Learning Outcomes:

- Knowledge of PM processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control, close projects, and coordinate all project elements.
- Ability to Manage projects effectively, including the management of scope, time, costs, and quality, ensuring satisfying the needs for which the project was undertaken.
- Awareness of processes required to manage the procurement of a project, including acquiring goods and services from outside the organization.
- Ability to manage project risk, including identifying, analyzing, and responding to risk.
- Ability to analyze and manage stakeholder expectations and engagement to ensure a successful project outcome.
- Ability to strategically apply project management practices in a variety of organizational and international settings.
