Dr. Gurnam Singh has served in various universities in India and abroad as Dean, Professor, and Visiting Scholar. Presently, he is Dean of Performing Arts at Guru Nanak Dev University. Dr. Singh is the recipient of national and international awards in the field of music. He has been bestowed the Sangeet Natak Academy Award and Fellowship for his special contribution in Sikh Music. Dr. Singh established the Bhai Randhir Singh On-Line Gurmat Sangeet Library (2010), Sucha Singh Archives of Music (2011), and Gurmat Gyan Online Teaching Program (2013). His publications include Punjab Folk Music Heritage (2005), Gurmat Sangeet Sikh Sacred Music (2008), Terminology (2012), and Sikh Musicology (2013), and he has contributed to many more books.
