Gian Singh Sandhu

Gian Singh Sandhu, an esteemed author, academic, and enterprise strategist, has considerably impacted society in multiple capacities. His previous role as Chief Executive Officer and President of a Group of Forest Products companies in British Columbia, Canada, showcased his strategic leadership and operational management prowess. Presently, he functions as a Management Consultant, utilizing his wealth of expertise in governing non-profit and commercial entities. 

Mr. Sandhu’s accomplishments are not restricted to the business realm. His commitment to societal change is reflected in his active engagement with diverse social, cultural, educational, civic, and professional organizations. His academic contributions include a brief teaching tenure at Cariboo College. His influence has extended to regional, provincial, and national advisory boards within both governmental and non-governmental contexts.

In the past four decades, Mr. Sandhu has played a crucial role in aiding the Canadian Sikh community to navigate and overcome substantial political and societal obstacles. His visionary leadership was acknowledged when he was awarded the regional Entrepreneur of the Year in 1994, an accolade quickly followed by a nomination for the national equivalent.

In recognition of his broad contributions to Canadian society, Mr. Sandhu received the Order of British Columbia (OBC) in 2002, the province’s highest civilian honour, along with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for Community Service that same year. In 2024, he was further honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his significant contributions to Canada and exceptional achievements abroad that bring credit to the nation.

As an accomplished scholar, Mr. Sandhu’s oeuvre includes four sole-authored books, chapters in three other volumes, and over 200 scripts focused on Sikh heritage. His consistent contributions as a publisher and public speaker on social, religious, and political matters further testify to his role as a leading voice in these spheres, fostering understanding and facilitating essential dialogues.


Harpreet Singh Dardi

Harpreet Singh Dardi is the President of Chardikala Time TV in North America and the Vice President of the Chardikala Group in Patiala, India.  His responsibilities extend across strategic oversight of the TV networks and the Group’s education and publishing businesses. Harpreet Singh holds an MBA in Management Information Systems from Concordia University, Wisconsin, equipping him with a solid understanding of business strategy and IT’s role in the modern business environment.

Beyond his corporate roles, Mr. Dardi is actively involved in community development as a Board Member of the ‘Institute of Gurmat Studies, promoting Sikh philosophy, theology, and history. He also contributes significantly to various charities, showing his commitment to social responsibility.


Gurjit Kaur Bains

Gurjit Kaur Bains is an educator and lawyer from Brampton, Ontario, who obtained her law degree from City University, London and her Master’s in law from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto. With a deep commitment to community service and youth development, she’s been a youth champion from her teens, leading diverse initiatives for their growth. A significant milestone is her leadership in a youth-run program where participants ran across Canada for charity, demonstrating community collaboration and resilience.

In her teaching profession, Gurjit Kaur specializes in social justice and equity studies, specifically the Canadian legal system and public healthcare. Her ability to unpack complex concepts empowers her students with profound understanding.  An avid runner herself, Gurjit Kaur personifies endurance and determination, traits she seeks to nurture in her students. Her aim extends beyond education, striving to foster the potential for societal change within her students.

An active member of the Patient and Family Advisory Council with William Osler Health Systems and Ontario Health is committed to making healthcare accessible to all members of her community. She also works diligently with Toronto Metropolitan University and various councils working on equity, diversity, and program planning in establishing the new School of Medicine in Brampton.

Jaswinder Singh Parmar

Jaswinder Singh Parmar, a distinguished entrepreneur, is the President & CEO of AMC Insurance Services. Under his leadership, AMC has established nine robust branches across British Columbia. A law graduate from Ajmer University, Rajasthan, India, Mr. Parmar’s legal expertise has significantly contributed to his success in the business world. In addition to insurance, Mr. Parmar has showcased his skills as a real estate developer, creating diverse residential and commercial complexes.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Parmar is a dedicated philanthropist. He supports numerous charities, focusing on education, health, and poverty alleviation. One of his noteworthy initiatives is providing scholarships to nine high school students annually, empowering them to pursue a university education. Jaswinder Singh is a dynamic business figure with a deep commitment to community service. Dr. Kamaljit Kaur Sidhu

Dr. Kamaljit Kaur Sidhu has over 30 years’ experience as an educator and registered psychologist in British Columbia. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan, including elementary, high school and university level students. Dr. Sidhu completed her Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia (2000), with a doctoral dissertation titled ‘Second Generation Sikh Adolescent Males – A Grounded Theory Model of Self and Identity Construction.’ She has served as a board member for the British Columbia School Counsellors’ Association and as a board member and President for the British Columbia Psychological Association. In addition to her full-time private practice in psychology, Dr. Sidhu continues to volunteer to promote community education about mental health through media interviews, workshops and presentations to professionals and the public.
